Ric Alexander is known for playing two saxes at once in the Bay Area smooth jazz scene.

He was recently crowned the Smooth Jazz Idol by Dave Koz and has opened shows for Frankie Beverly and Maze at the Chronicle Pavilion, Ledisi at Yoshi's, Nils and Gerald Albright with Jeff Lorber at KKSF's Earth Day Festival.

His current CD project features a few well known smooth jazz artists like guitarist Levi Seacer Jr. (Prince), keyboardist Terry Disley (Acoustic Alchemy), drummer Billy Johnson (Joyce Cooling), percussionist Marquino Brasil (Craig Chaqico) and bassist Nelson Braxton (Braxton Brothers).
